Riding Elk River Rail Explorers

Fun adventure day date celebrating WV Day! Breakfast of champions at Yann’s before hitting the grand opening of Loving WV new storefront.

Road trip to Clay County with lunch at Carol's Crossroads Best where Panthers are welcome and the Nancy burger with onion petals and a slice of blackberry pie couldn’t be beat.

Arrived for our 2:30 departure on the brand-new tandem Rail Explorers USA pedal powered rail bikes at Elk River along the Buffalo Creek & Gauley Railroad (bonus of West Virginia Waterfall Check-In for Devil’s Sawmill along the ride and being 1st pushpin on map from Morgantown). Super cool experience - highly recommend! (Note: you can pack a cooler of drinks and snacks for the ride or when stop at the turn-around to dip your toes in the creek!). And looks like a new Almost Heaven swing by West Virginia Tourism is coming soon - UPDATE, it has officially been added!

En route home - slight detour for a stop at Fish Hawk Acres for dinner (spinach artichoke mushroom cheesy sandwich! And when in Buckhannon, must grab some pepperoni rolls (ground pep!) at The Donut Shop / Spot. Quick swing stop at Philippi Covered Bridge.
