Fairy Door Trail @ Mason-Dixon Park

Another beautiful fall morning so decided to take our youngest out to Mason-Dixon Historical Park and wander the Fairy Door Trail. Easy to follow signs to park by the water and basketball court and one of the playgrounds at the park. Flat easy walk along the water to Bluebell Trail (still continues to be signs for Fairy Door Trail too) with benches.

Right before the Fairy Doors started, we stumbled upon the brand-new Almost Heaven swing. I had heard there would be one installed there awhile ago but didn’t know it was there yet so add that to your Swings bucket list. My friend at Almost Heaven Adventures scores and details each swing location so check her out!

It was right next to 2 benches labeled Pennsylvania and West Virginia so we had fun jumping from state to state or joking we’d send him over to Pennsylvania.

The Fairy Door trail is about 1/2 mile from the parking lot and only 0.35 miles long and lots of neat little fairy doors put on the trees or little characters placed by different artists and local community members. There was also a book to follow along with different pages to read along the trail.

Extra bonus was the Tucker Falls waterfall on the Orange Trail that you could check in for the West Virginia Waterfall Wanderer trail too.

Several playgrounds, picnic tables, benches all around if you pack a lunch and hang for a bit or continue to explore other trails on the grounds too (trail map here)
